Principal of Wauchope Public School, Di Reynolds, said that the P&C organisation wanted to ensure that all students would have equal access to this preferred learning style.

“Now every student at Wauchope Public School can participate in the interactive educational experience which is made possible with the whiteboards,” Mrs Reynolds said.

The interactive whiteboards are a large touch-sensitive display panel and can be connected to a data projector and computer allowing the computer image to be projected onto the board.

“This image can be controlled by touching the board either directly or with a stylus, as well as by using the computer mouse or keyboard,” said Mrs Reynolds.

“Users can contribute directly by inputting either at the computer or by touching the board itself, which makes it possible to interact in multidimensional ways with the information.

“The students are able to write or draw on the board, save and re-use content and print off the image.

“The possibilities seem endless and the staff have enjoyed being able to incorporate this preferred learning style in their classrooms.

“Using an interactive whiteboard provides an educational experience that will start bridging the gap between the learning that young people are doing outside the classroom and that which goes on in schools.

“The educational possibilities that interactive whiteboards present for classroom learning are certainly exciting,” Mrs Reynolds said.
